About Libbie

Libbie is a painter with a background in chemistry — a unique blend of theorems and creativity.  She traded formulas and lab coats for canvas finding in painting the same sense of inquiry and discovery.

Each piece is layered thoughtfully, testing boundaries and materials to explore how color and structure intersect.  

In October 2025, at 60, Libbie left the Midwest and drove through the mountains — a passage of switchbacks, long horizons, and breathtaking light.
That journey sharpened her attention to scale, atmosphere, and the contours of place, shaping her current body of work.

Now based in Scottsdale, Arizona, Libbie continues to paint daily, treating her studio like a laboratory for color and gesture. She doesn’t wait for the muse — she shows up, explores, and experiments.
